Youth buried while mining sand illegally

The incident happened close to midnight and the deceased youth has been identified as Madhankumar. He was accompanied by his friends Niraipandi and Ramadoss. When Madhankumar was busy mining sand from a deep pit he got buried inside as sand went inside the pit covering him fully.

Though his friends tried to clear the sand he died due to asphyxiation. When he was taken to the hospital he was declared dead. 

Police who were informed carried out investigation. They said the trio which was interested in quick money was involved in illegal mining of Vaippar river sand for long. They used to load the sand in large bags and used to transport it in their bikes. Niraipandi and Ramadoss are being interrogated. 

Sattur police have booked a case and are investigating.
