Compulsory helmet rule for 2 wheeler riders comes into force

Traffic police had conducted several awareness programmes on the necessity to use helmets prior to implementation of the rule.

Chief Minister V Narayanasamy, who participated in May Day celebrations organised by the ruling Congress in neighbouring Kalapet, also explained the necessity to use helmets.

He said helmets are essential to prevent loss of life in an accident and urged people to extend cooperation by observing the rule.
