Dr M Sekar, former Dean of Anna University, said, “Departments such as mechanical and Electronics and Communications have always been in demand among students. Also, for the past two years, we have seen a slump in the demand for Civil Engineering. People expected to find placements expecting a boom in infrastructure but the reality turned out to be otherwise, following which the students have stopped opting for civil engineering as a lucrative option.” Given the visa issues around the world, Information Technology is likely to see a slump. “The IT department was considered a hot property till recently but trends might change this year,” he said. 

The last date for registration is on May 31 and the last date for submission of filled-in online application is June 3. Random numbers will be assigned on June 20, the rank list will be out on June 22 and the counselling date is fixed as June 27.
