TTV arrest paves way for smooth talks between two AIADMK factions
The Tuesday night arrest of AIADMK(A) deputy general secretary TTV Dinakaran by the New Delhi police has eased the way for talks between the two rival factions, party seniors told DT Next on Wednesday.
Chennai
Tuesday's arrest was followed by banners in the AIADMK party office which had pictures of Dinakaran's aunt and incarcerated party general secretary VK Sasikala being removed and being replaced with those having former chief minister Jayalalithaa's picture alone.Â
It maybe recalled that party presidium chairman E Madhusoodanan had demanded removal of Sasikala's banners from the party office recently. This was expected to pave the way for talks to be held soon.
However with AIADMK(A) senior ministers including chief minister Edapadi K Palanisamy meeting district secretaries at the party office for three days from Tuesday rules out talks being held here till  Friday. Yesterday's meet was attended by  14 district secretaries from the northern belt while today's meeting is meant for those from the state's western belt.
