Both the factions of AIADMK to hold talks on Monday

On Friday, AIADMK (A) and AIADMK (PTA) formed 8- and 7-member committees respectively to negotiate the terms of the proposed mereger. While the Amma faction is headed by R Vaithilingam, the Puratchi Thalaivi Amma faction is headed by KP Munusamy. 

The merger talks hit an impasse when former Chief Minister O Panneerselvam laid down pre-conditions that mainly insisted on the eviction of VK Sasikala, her nephew TTV Dinakaran and 30-odd members of the family. The faction also insisted on conducting a CBI-inquiry into the death of former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.
