BJP creating confusion in AIADMK: Stalin
Accusing the BJP-led Centre of creating confusion in the ruling AIADMK, principal opposition party DMK on Thursday questioned the bias shown by central investigating agencies in cases involving leaders of the two warring factions and said the Income Tax (I-T) Department and Enforcement Directorate (ED) should act independently and expose the corrupt AIADMK ministers.

DMK working president MK Stalin, questioning the lack of transparency and inconsistency in the I-T and ED probes, said, “The Union government must allow the probe agencies to act independently to expose the corrupt AIADMK ministers, instead of remaining mute spectators by creating confusions within the AIADMK and allowing them tactically to continue their corrupt tenure.”
Recalling at length the cases involving sand mining baron Sekar Reddy, seizure at Health Minister Vijaya Baskar’s residence and Dinakaran’s ECI bribing case, and the actions taken by concerned investigating agencies, Stalin wondered, “Who promised the corrupt EPS faction a clean image just because they disassociated themselves from the larger corrupt family? Who is using autonomous bodies like I-T department and CBI and for what political motives?”
Attributing a scam each to the three AIAMDK leaders, Highways scandal (K Palanisamy), FERA faction (TTV Dinakaran) and sand mafia (O Panneerselvam), Stalin asked, “If interfering in the EC’s duty is an offence, then why is the partiality in filing FIR in one instance and not in the other? If it is legal to register a case based on the testimony from a habitual offender, why were cases not registered even after seizing Rs 5.16 crore corruption related documents and account for Rs 89 crore meant for voters in RK Nagar?”
Stalin added that Panneerselvam, who is currently showcasing himself as the torch bearer of integrity, was the same OPS who had royally handed over the right to exploit TN’s natural resources to sand mafia baron Sekar Reddy.
