Coimbatore
Corporation Commissioner and Special Officer KR Selvaraj said that the corporation would resume drinking water supply to those connections when water level in Mettur Dam reaches the satisfactory level.Â
Stating that the city with a population of close to 8.5 lakh people has 1.02 lakh drinking water connections, Selvaraj said this includes 1,387 commercial connections, for marriage halls, hotels and factories.Â
He said that they have already advised commercial establishments and factories to look for alternative arrangements. The special officer said that the city would utilise water from the 3,068 borewells and Mettur Dam.
