Vishal, currently meeting the producers across the state and requesting them to support him in the Tamil Film Producers Council election, campaigned here on Monday. Speaking to the reporters, Vishal said, he along with his team have been meeting the producers across the state and seeking their support in the upcoming council election.

“My foremost agenda is to uplift the weak producers. For instance, we have met and spoke to Siva Ramadas, who produced the famous Malayur Mambattiyan and is now living in a pathetic condition. We will first give him a come-back,” assured Vishal.

“Just to bring back those veteran producers, who have been leading a poor life, we have been contesting in the film producer’s council election,” said Vishal.

Denying the opponent team’s criticism, that the actors have been demanding a huge sum from the producers that prompts them to go debt ridden, he claimed the actors never demanded huge sums. “Actors ask for payment only based on their market value. However, we will settle such problems if elected to the council,” Vishal said.

He claimed that they have framed a budget rule, which would help the producers to limit the expenditure from the film puja to release of the movies. “This will end all the problems and there will never be any negotiations during the time of release,” Vishal said and added that the producers here after would always be backed by actors and directors.

Director Pandiraj said, “A music programme by Ilayaraja will be organised for the construction of producer’s council building. Earlier, those who were in the council promised to raise Rs 100 crore through music programmes but they failed to do so. But we will do it.”

Actor Prakash Raj has been given the responsibility and many actors have expressed their support for the programme, he informed.
