Shah to attend RSS’ 3-day conclave in Kovai
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Amit Shah will take part in the three-day annual Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha (ABPS) of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) that will be held at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, at Ettimadai, in Coimbatore, from Sunday.

The meeting that is taking place in the state for the first time, since the founding of the 92-year-old organisation in 1925, assumes significance after the victory of BJP in the assembly elections held in five states. The Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha will be presided over by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat.
Their General Secretary Suresh Bhaiyyaji Joshi will take part in the meeting. Over 1,400 leaders from across the country will be participating in the three-day exercise in the western city of Tamil Nadu.
“The national president and organising general secretary and top leaders of the 54 wings and organisations affiliated to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh including Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and BJP will take part in the meeting to discuss various national and social issues. Important resolutions would be passed on Monday,” a RSS spokesperson told DTNext.
Strengthening of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh in Tamil Nadu by opening more branches is among important issues to be discussed at the meeting.
Talking to reporters in Coimbatore on the eve of the grand event, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh All India Prachar Pramukh (media coordinator) Manmohan Vaidya said that rural development and need to protect native breed cows would also be discussed in detail.
Manmohan added that fast deteriorating population of native breed cows is an issue of concern. He said that they are exported to various countries and that this should be stopped.
During the meeting, they will be discussing on efforts to save native breed cattle, increasing production of A2 milk.
He also expressed concern over the increasing attacks on ABVP members.
