Income Tax, Postal officials go on strike

Their agitation was part of the Nation-wide call. They were demanding among other things like enhancement in their house rent allowance, changing of minimum wage and fitment formula, dropping of outsourcing method, contract system and new pension system. 

Meanwhile, the Postal Department employees too struck work and held a demonstration in front of the head post office demanding implementation of the 7th pay commission recommendations after making amendments. Functioning of the department was affected as most of the staff took part in the agitation.
