Sasikala replies to EC notice on elevation as General Secretary

Following a petition by the rival faction led by former chief minister O Panneerselvam some days ago on the invalidity of Sasikala holding the GS post as she was not chosen by all the party’s rank and file but was only nominated by the General Council, the EC had issued notice to Sasikala in the Bengaluru Parampara Agrahar prison. The reply was forwarded to the EC by Deputy General Secretary TTV Dinakaran who held discussions with lawyers in addition to calling for a meeting of the party executive committee consisting of all district secretaries and special invitees to go into this issue before presenting the response to the EC. 

Speaking to DTnext , former AIADMK MP Maitreyan said the EC reply was expected to give its verdict on this issue in a day or two. Meantime, Chief Minister Edappadi K Palanisamy, O Panneerselvam and Dinakaran are all camping in the national capital to ensure victory for their factions. Party Presidium Chairman and School Education Minister KA Sengottaiyan, Food Minister R Kamaraj and Party Treasurer and Forest Minister Dindigul C Srinivasan met Sasikala in prison on Tuesday to discuss party issues, party sources revealed.
