The app called Tamil Nadu Complaints was launched on Monday and can be downloaded on Android phones using Google Store.

Founder and President of AISWA, Senthil Kumar said, “The idea came about during the jallikattu protest at Marina beach. Thousands had gathered for a particular cause, we felt the need to feel united to bring about a change and impact and so the App was designed by the technical team of AISWA”.

Two weeks ago, it was launched for testing and fixing the errors and on Monday it was officially launched. Users can download the App, register using a user name and proceed with a provided password.

Explaining the modus operandi, Senthil said, “Users can post pictures, write complaints on which others can respond by hitting the Like button or comment on it. At first, we call back to verify the complaint, then a local team will be sent to check on its genuineness. If it is something that can be done by us we will do it, such as uncleared garbage or cleaning up a street. However, in case of major problems such as potholed roads, water crisis or electricity problem or something on a large scale, we send a requisition to the government official”.

The team said, in case the government official or local body does not respond, they plan to put pressure on the office or else go for a protest. Senthil said, “For cleaning up projects we do not need the governments help. Our team believes that a collective voice can bring about change.”
