Nehru, Mahesh try to prove strength

Though the hunger strike was organised by the district unit of DMK in which former minister and sitting MLA KN Nehru is the district secretary, the State Deputy youth wing secretary Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi was also active in the meeting. He made it a point to prove his strength and went on ensuring the list of the speakers who are apparently his supporters were given time to address the protesters. 

Cadre, who were given a chance to speak with Stalin on the dais, gave a detailed account of the political activities of Mahesh and went on praising him conveniently avoiding the name of Nehru and his efforts to strengthen the party in the district. At one point, Nehru asked his supporters to speak and it was their turn to completely black out the name of Mahesh and his party activities in the district. 

Stalin who took a note of the speeches of supporters of both the groups, in his concluding address said that the main aim of the party was to focus on working well to return to power. The party’s working president further advised the cadre to avoid disputes among themselves for the development of the party.
