CM’s orders bid to divert people’s anger: Anbumani
Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) has on Monday termed the government’s new announcement as an ‘eyewash’.
Chennai
Anbumani Ramadoss, in a statement, said that newly-elected Chief Minister Edappadi K Palanisamy had picked up some schemes from where late chief minister J Jayalalithaa left out. “Those schemes have been announced to divert the anger of the public, who do not want a ‘benami’ government and it is seen as a big effort to involve in corrupt practices without interruption,” he said.
Even after demise of Jayalalithaa, the O Panneerselvam-led government did not announce a single scheme and he did not mention about any scheme during his speeches in the Assembly in the previous session.
“Under this circumstance, EPS’s announcement is only an attempt divert the people’s anger against the new government,” Anbumani opined.
Pointing out that the state had 7,000 TASMAC outlets and only 500 liquor shops were closed last year, Anbumani questioned the logic behind the announcement of Palanisamy on closure of 500 more outlets.
If the government continued with the same number with regard to closure of TASMAC shops then it would take 14 years for the state to achieve total prohibition, Anbumani said.
VCK’s Demands
VCK leader Thol Thirumavalavan has demanded Chief Minister Edappadi K Palanisamy to concentrate on primary issues in the state and find out a solution to them at the earliest.
In a statement, he said, the state was witnessing unprecedented drought. He also pointed out that obtaining exemption for Tamil Nadu from the NEET was paramount.
