Sasikala leaves resort; MLAs asked to go
As the 100 plus MLAs loyal to AIADMK General Secretary VK Sasikala continued to camp at the Golden Bay resort despite the SC verdict requiring her to surrender immediately, senior police officials have urged the MLAs to vacate the resort at the earliest as Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code had been invoked in the area.

“In an attempt to thwart any law and order situation in Koovathur, the Kancheepuram collector invoked Section 144 but the continued presence of legislators posed a serious threat as their supporters might throng and create unnecessary problems. Hence, we have asked them all to vacate,” a senior police official told this newspaper.
While the party general secretary visited the holed up MLAs twice since last week, she decided to stay with them on Monday night and has remained there until late on Tuesday. Some of the legislators who switched to the OPS camp claimed that they had been detained at the resort and had to literally escape from there in disguise.
Though Sasikala has to surrender at Bengaluru prison by Wednesday, the MLAs may not leave the resort immediately.
