‘Government has enough stock of Tamiflu’

Taking part in an awareness drive on the A(H1N1) virus, Kulandhaisamy admitted that the present strain of the virus has been stronger than the previous one. Speaking in a private college here, he said that the government is organising various awareness programmes on A(H1N1). He said that they are insisting public, through school and colleges, on the need to wash hands with soap 12 times a day to stay away from the virus.
The health official added that the measles rubella vaccination drive is being carried out successfully across the country and 100 per cent coverage is expected by April. It is worth mentioning that A(H1N1) claimed the life of a couple in Coimbatore last Friday, while their two children have been hospitalised as they also tested positive.
