Participating in the media meet at Paneerselvam’s residence, he called Sasikala and her relatives ‘a gang of thieves’ he said “they want money, money and money.” Sasikala is unfit to be party general secretary as Sasikala was running a liquor company Midas, when many a party worker was languishing without support, he pointed out.
Referring to former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa’s death, he said “because wrong diabetic medicine was given to her, we have lost Jayalalithaa today.” This was stated by one Dr Sivakumar in a programme hosted by Rajdeep Sardesai on a private TV channel he added.
Stating that he rushed to OPS’ side when he heard of his problems, Pandian said “If they do not move aside and continue to trouble OPS, MLAs and the people of Tamil Nadu, then I will file the first FIR against them” he thundered. “I am warning them,” he added.
Referring to his meeting OPS on December 5 after Jayalalithaa’s death, he said, “After the death announcement, I took hold of both his hands and told him to be brave as you are the CM of TN. If you need any help, then I am there.”
When a reporter intervened with a question he said, “Please do not ask questions, I am talking about a gang of thieves.” Then taking hold of Paneeerselvam’s hand Pandian said, “We should all safeguard OPS who won the Jallikattu issue for which I am ready to do anything.”
When a question was raised about Sasikala’s threat to remove OPS from the party, he said “she cannot remove him; we are going to remove her.”
On Tuesday, Pandian had alleged that there was no proper information after the late Chief Minister Jayalalithaa was hospitalised. He also added that when Jayalalithaa convened a press meet after her release from jail in 1996, she had said all that she had earned should go to the people. “Mr Pandian, you please see to that, she told me,” he claimed.
Deepa plays it safe, says no invite from caretaker Chief Minister yet
“I have not received any invitation from caretaker chief minister O Panneerselvam yet,” former chief minister Jayalalithaa’s niece Deepa Jayakumar informed the media on Wednesday.
She was reacting to the media announcement by Panneerselvam that he would soon invite Deepa to join him. Referring to the stream of events in Chennai after Panneerselvam’s startling announcement blaming AIADMK general secretary VK Sasikala for forcing him to resign his post, Deepa said she came to know of it only through the media .
Asked for her observations, she however said that she did not want to react based on media reports. She said that there was no change in her plans to announce her foray into politics on February 24, Jayalalithaa’s birth day. The sudden turn of events resulted in crowds before her house practically disappearing on Wednesday.
