150 sovereigns stolen from senior citizen

It is said that on January 24 Sumathirai along with his son went to Coimbatore for a medical checkup in a private hospital. But on Wednesday, the neighbours noticed the door of Sumathirai’s house broken open alerted Kathiresan, the sonin-law of Sumathirai who has been living in the same village. He rushed to the spot and found the bureaus in two rooms of the houses broken. 

On Thursday, Sumathirai who reached Thiruvaiyaru inspected all her belongings and told the police that, she lost around 150 sovereigns, silver articles and Rs. 2.5 lakhs cash kept in the almirah. Based on the complaint the Tiruvaiyaru police commenced investigations.
