28 held for defying ban in Cuddalore
The police arrested 28 persons, including four Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) cadre, a political party headed by Seeman, for violating the Supreme Court ban on jallikattu and conducting the event in Cuddalore under the guise of shooting for a movie.

Police, however, denied allegations of arresting media persons who coverede the event. District Superintendent of Police C Vijayakumar told DTNext that the organisation kept things under wraps by not even informing the local residents about the event and had brought 24 persons and four bulls from Dindigul district.
“They first barricaded the area claiming that they were conducting a film shoot. They had also arranged for a few cameras to cover the event. They later proceeded to release the bulls,” Vijayakumar said. Police, who were unaware about the event, rushed to the spot and arrested the men taking part in it. They took possession of the bulls and a lorry used to transport the animals.
The bulls were handed over to a local goshala and the Blue Cross, the SP said. Police said the organisers had chosen a private field between Tiruvanthipuram and Tirumanikuzhi. Local residents who noticed the commotion informed the police.
