The accused were identified as Sendhuran (39) and Gopinath (35) and they were staying at Virupachipuram in Vellore district. On Wednesday they had gone to Madurai airport to board the flight to Sri Lanka. During the emigration check when the officials inquired them about their current residential address they gave contradicting replies. The officials suspecting foul play asked the address of the place the brothers were going to visit in Sri Lanka. For that too they gave contradicting replies. Police carried out an investigation. It was found that they already had a Sri Lankan passport and also have another fake Indian passport. They planned to travel to Sri Lanka with the help of the Indian passport. Following the arrest, the brothers were remanded on Friday.
