Mokit’s ton rescues Sea Hawks

CHENNAI: Riding on a century from RS Mokit Hariharan, Sea Hawks CC scored 215 against Vijay CC on the first day of the second round of the TNCA First Division League here on Wednesday.

This is Mokit’s first ton of the season and it couldn’t have come at a better time as he scored more than half his team’s total by contributing a valuable 121 (209b, 11x4, 3x6). For Vijay, left-arm spinners Rahil S Shah (3/67) and R Sai Kishore (4/31) excelled sharing seven wickets between them.

Meanwhile, Alwarpet’s NS Harish took five for 46 to restrict Jolly Rovers to 192. But Rovers hit back through left-arm spinner S Mohan Prasath who took four for 31 to leave Alwarpet in a spot of bother at 110 for 6.
