SUNCHEON: PV Sindhu and Kidambi Srikanth progressed to the Korea Open Super 500 pre-quarterfinals with straight-game wins here on Wednesday. The third-seeded Sindhu trounced American Lauren Lam 21-15, 21-14 in the women’s singles first round while No.5 Srikanth saw off Malaysia’s Daren Liew 22-20, 21-11 in his men’s singles opener. In men’s doubles, the Satwiksairaj Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty and MR Arjun-Dhruv Kapila combinations sealed spots in the second round. While Satwiksairaj and Chirag got the better of Tae Yang Shin and Wang Chan (Korea) 21-16, 21-15, Arjun and Dhruv received a walkover from Korea’s Ba Da Kim and Hee Young Park.
