Right-arm medium pacer Bibhakar delivered a fantastic spell to bowl out the home team for a paltry 108 in the first innings. In reply to Tamil Nadu’s tiny opening innings total, Assam was 146 for seven at stumps, holding a 38-run advantage with three wickets in hand. Touring skipper and middle-order batter Denish Das (85 not out) is 15 shy of a century.

Brief scores: Tamil Nadu 108 all-out in 29.1 overs (Arjun P Murthy 61, Bibhakar Nag 6/43, Dasarath Kumar 2/35) vs Assam 146 for 7 in 50 overs (Denish Das 85*, H Prashid Akash 4/52, A Mohammed Tibiyan 2/25).
