The middle-order batter was retained by the Dindigul franchise ahead of the season. He has scored 249 runs at a strike-rate of over 200 in this edition and helped his side achieve the season’s highest score of 203 on Thursday.

Talking about his performance against the Madurai Panthers in Qualifier 1, he said, “I had to score more runs than the balls I faced to maintain my high strike rate. My role is to not waste deliveries but score as many runs as possible. I did play my role very well today (Thursday). Sixes are my favourite, and I am good at it so, it was a perfect game for me.”

He also took a wonderful catch on the fence off Mohan Abhinav to send opposition batsman Jagatheesan Kousik back to the pavilion. “I kept looking at the ball and did not take my eyes off it till the end. So, I had the belief that I could take it,” he added during the post-match press conference.

It will be Vivek’s first final in the state league. Speaking on how good it feels to be a part of the summit clash, he remarked, “I am very happy about playing in the final because in the last two seasons, we failed to qualify for it. This year, we have a very good team with many talented players who are playing extremely well. We have great support also, so we are happy.”
