Chennai
Trichy Warriors is on a roll after winning both its matches in the third edition while Kovai Kings lost two of three outings – to Dindigul Dragons and Tuti Patriots in succession.Â
Kovai Kings’ bowlers managed to restrict Tuti Patriots to 182 but its batsmen failed to take advantage of a batting-friendly pitch and eventually fell short by 11 runs.Â
Left-arm pacer T Natarajan bowled a spectacular Super Over to clinch Kovai Kings’ only win so far, against Karaikudi Kaalai. Its batsmen, however, will need to rise to the occasion if the team is to break its losing streak.
Trichy Warriors, on the other hand, def eated two quality sides in Dindigul Dragons and Chepauk Super Gillies and is brimming with confidence.Â
Its strong batting and bowling performances in the game against defending champion Chepauk Super Gillies proves that it is not to be taken lightly.Â
Baba Indrajith, S Suresh Kumar, and C Ganapathy are in good form with the bat and will be itching to make the most of the short boundaries at the Natham ground.Â
Ganapathy also starred with the ball in the game against Gillies, returning figures of 5-19. He was well supported by left-arm spinner K Vignesh and mediumpacer Sonu Yadav.
