The captain, who could not contribute significantly, said his side was bent on keeping wickets in hand in the match after Dindigul posted 172 runs batting first.  “The total of 173 was good on that pitch but we wanted to keep wickets in hand and try our best in the last five-six overs. The wicket was on the slower side though... we had expected it to be flatter,” he said after the match.

When it lost five wickets, the match was almost beyond it but a terrific assault by Suresh Kumar saw Warriors race to victory. “Well, I was hopeful but practically I felt it was beyond our reach. We were actually thinking about getting as close to the target as possible to reduce the losing margin. But everything fell in place tonight and we won,” Indrajith said at the presentation ceremony.

The captain was all praise for Suresh Kumar. “Suresh Kumar has been on the circuit for a long time and he has been a consistent performer. That is why we picked him early in the draft. It was time that he delivered, and he played a brilliant knock tonight,” he averred.
