Liverpool coach Klopp wants great finish to Champions League run
Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp has congratulated himself and his squad for their great moments this football season, stressing that his side is looking for a great finish to its Champions League run.
Liverpool, a five-time European champion, will seek to claim its sixth trophy in the final against Champions League defending champion Real Madrid in the Ukrainian capital Kiev on May 26, reports Efe.
"We feel really good and we think we deserve where we are because the boys really showed up in all different games. It was a very exciting journey so far and now we want to bring it to the best possible end," the German coach said.
Klopp admitted that Real Madrid has more experience in the Champions League, but insisted that Liverpool can win if it performs in Kiev as it did against Manchester City and Roma in previous rounds.
"Real Madrid are a world-class team (and) we are a top-class team - there's still a difference, and if you are not on the same level, you have to invest more, you have to do more," he said.
The German coach also praised the psychological strength of his team and gave clues about the progress of midfielder Emre Can, who has been out due to an injury since March.
"With Emre or players in the situation of Emre it depends on the reaction on things (but) let me say it like this: 10 days ago, I didn't think it was possible that he could do what he did today, and that he could do what he did in Marbella already," Klopp added.Â
