Sankar Muthuswamy named Player of the Year by CDBA
The Chennai District Badminton Association gave away cash prizes to those who excelled at the State/National/International level and also roped in sponsors to provide travel allowances to main-draw players representing Chennai at the National Championship.

Sankar Muthuswamy was the biggest beneficiary of the event, Taking home Rs 1,27, 108. He was also presented the Player of the Year award as he rose to the number one spot in the Boys Singles Under-15 category, along with Karan Rajan. Rajan and Siddanth Gupta received cash awards of Rs 66,676 and Rs 55,758 respectively. Gupta won a special award for representing India in the Asiabn Under-15 Championships.Â
A Aravindan was presented with the Coach of the Year awarrd. Anirudh and Pranavi bagged the Emerging player of the Year awards in the men’s and women’s category respectively. Ritwik Sanjeevi was named the Spirited performer of the Year.Â
