There is quite a lot of good young Aussie talent: Ian Chappell

Ian Chappell, former Aussie Cricket captain and global ambassador of SportsHero, shared his insights about the engagement SportsHero provides sports fans, “Throughout my career, I have experienced first-hand the unbelievably strong passion India has for cricket. Speaking at the launch, Tom Lapping, Chief Executive Officer SportsHero, shared the company’s vision for the market, “Across the globe our users are passionate sports fans that have an innate desire to be closely connected to the games. India is a dynamic market with a huge love of cricket coupled with astounding mobile and social media consumption, making it an incredibly exciting market for us.”

Ian Chappell asserted that there is a lot of local talent in Australia. “There is quite a lot of good young talent around in Australia, the likes of D Arcy Short and Billy Stanlake, but I am not so convinced about Ben Dwarshuis, but I think Short and Stanlake really do have a chance.”

He also said that D Arcy Short will have a chance to make his mark in the national team in the absence of Steve Smith and David Warner. “In terms of bowling, Australia is going to be all right, they have got a very good attack now. They have Stanlake and a couple of other players like him in reserve, so in terms of bowling they’ll be okay, maybe they could be a bit light on spin bowling. Whereas batting, without Warner and Smith, that’s where Australia’s problems will be. So, I see a big opportunity for D Arcy Short. There is another player called Jake Weatherald who has got a lot of ability, but I have only seen him in the short version of the game and I need to see him in the longer version of the game but the cupboard’s a bit bare when it comes to batting,” he signed off.
