Top Tamil Nadu teams for JIT basketball tournament

The organisers invited all the top teams in the country, but some of them were unable to make it because of the semester exams and other reasons. However, all the best teams in Tamil Nadu have come forward to participate in the six-day event. 

Reigning champions Loyola, Chennai, MCC, Satyabama University, SRM University, GTN, Dindigul and DG Vaishnav College and the host Jeppiaar Institute of Technology, St Joseph’s Engineering College are in the fray along with outstation outfit Mari Laxman Reddy Institute of Technology, Hyderabad.

Jeppiaar Institute of Technology, which finished at the bottom of the super league last year is looking to make amends this time. 

International Moin Bek, junior India Richard Daniel, State probable Anand, junior State player Shelton and other players are raring to go under the guidance of State coach Ravishankar. In the leaguecum- super league tourney all the eight teams are drafted in two pools. Fancied Loyola, Satyabama University, St Joseph’s and SRM University are in pool A and Madras Christian College, GTN Dindigul, Mari Laxman Reddy Institute of Technology, Hyderabad, and host Jeppiaar Institute of Technology are in pool B to fight for the championship. Apart from basketball, this year the Jeppiaar Institute of Technology will also hold a five-a-side state level football tournament.
