TNCA First Division: Triple centurion Himmat steals the show

Vijay CC lost only two wickets the whole day even as it added a further 353 runs in 98 overs on day two.

Himmat remained unbeaten on 306 (415b, 24x4, 9x6) and he stitched together a huge 281 runs for the sixth wicket with KB Arun Karthick, who scored his third hundred this season before getting out at 135 (224b, 15x4, 2x6). Through the course of his century, Arun Karthick crossed the 700-run barrier in the current season. 

Meanwhile, in a low scoring match that got over inside two days, India Pistons defeated Nelson SC by 115 runs to reach the semi-finals. Pistons’ win was masterminded by its captain and off-spinner M Prabhu who hastened Nelson’s end by accounting for 11 wickets for 67 runs in the match. It was his fifth five-wicket haul of the season and first 10-wicket haul.
