    Teenager S Radhakrishnan slammed a maiden unbeaten double hundred to help Globe Trotters draw its match against Nelson SC in the TNCA First Division league here on Wednesday.

    Radhakrishnan 204 not out (266b, 29x4) and X Thalaivan Sargunam 116 not out (190b, 9x4, 3x6) were involved in a mammoth 283 runs in 63.4 overs for the unbroken fourth wicket. As the first innings was not completed, both teams received three points each.

    Varun guides Jubilee CC to win 

    CV Varun’s spectacular effort of eight for 31 with ball enabled Jubilee CC beat BSNL Chennai Telephones RC by 14 runs in the fourth division of the TNCA league. In another fourth division match, R Bharath Rajan scalped eight for 39 to help Prithvi CC to a  24-run win over City Central League.

    YMCA snooker from March 16 

    The YMCA Madras prize money open snooker tournament will be held at the Vepery YMCA hall from March 16 to 26. Chief referee of the event RB Ganesh said the open tournament held in the city after a long time has evoked a good response attracting 140 entries. All the leading players from Tamil Nadu will participate in the tournament which will be played in the knockout format right from the start. The semi-finals will be held on March 24 and the final of 11 frames will be held on March 26. There will be 18 matches every day on three tables in six sessions, said RB Ganesh. The international referee said the event will see AP and Kerala players also in action.
