Local League: Pacer Sunil Sam scalps five to restrict Grand Slam
Pacer Sunil Sam picked up his second five-wicket haul in as many matches to enable Globe Trotters to bowl out Grand Slam for 235 on day one of the third round of the TNCA First Division League match here on Tuesday.

Sunil (5/66) received good support from off-spinners Sunny Gupta and C Hari Nishaanth who shared four wickets between them. Grand Slam’s Bhargav Merai impressed during his knock of 86 (169b, 4x4, 1x6). At stumps, Trotters was 13 for no loss.Â
In the Plate division, Alwarpet’s Swapnil Gugale continued his purple patch scoring his third ton in as many matches. Swapnil remained unbeaten on 120 (210b, 12x4) to guide his team to 314 for four against CromBest. Swapnil added 108 runs for the fourth wicket with skipper P Shijit Chandran, who scored 46. CromBest offspinner S Mohanraj picked three of the four wickets to fall.
