Local League: Aravind, Sonu share honours at TNCA inter-districts U-19

Sonu Yadav’s whirlwind knock came off just 190 balls as he slammed a staggering 33 boundaries. Together with Mohammed Shafeequddin (51), Sonu helped Krishnagiri reach 281. In reply, Kancheepuram was in a spot of bother at 89 for five.

YSCA managed to win two games during its three match tour to Tiruchy between February 6 and 8. After winning its first two games against Eleven Diamond CC and Saranathan Engineering College, YSCA lost the final match of the tour after being bowled out for 108 against Bishop Heber College. The latter reached the target with seven wickets in hand.

Kancheepuram bowlers S David Allvin Nishanth (3/46) and N Sathvik Athmaraman (4/38) combined to take seven wickets to restrict Coimbatore to 174 on the first day of the TNCA inter-districts U-16 tournamnet for the PR Thevar Tophy on Tuesday. At stumps, Kancheepuram was 45 for no loss. Earlier, Coimbatore’s ND Hari Shankar waged a lone battle scoring an unbeaten 76 to help his team post a respectable total.
