Tamil Nadu men enter basketball semi-finals
Tamil Nadu men stormed into semi-final in style when it defeated Chandigarh 97-43 in the 68th Senior National Basketball Championship at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium here on Monday. The host will face Punjab in the semi-final on Tuesday.

It was a mixed day for Tamil Nadu as the women’s team bowed out of the championship after losing to Indian Railways. The Tamil Nadu women suffered a heavy defeat as the visitor won by a comfortable margin of 32 points, finishing at 96-64 at the end of the game. Earlier on Monday, Tamil Nadu beat West Bengal enabling it to clinch a spot in the quarter-finals.Â
Punjab men prevailed over title holder Uttarakhand in a close encounter, with just two points separating the two teams at the end of the two halves.Â
Defending Champion Kerala got the better of Delhi, winning its contest 63-42. In the other quarterfinals, Karnataka and Chhattisgarh defeated Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra respectively.Â
