Nethra bags silver in National Junior Sailing Championship

R Neelanand and Aniketh Rajaram of TNSA topped the Optimist Class in the YAI Senior & Junior National Sailing Championships at Krishnapatnam on Tuesday.
The races were held in feisty conditions with steady 12 knot winds gusting to 15 knots, white caps and 2-metre-high waves. The conditions over the four days of racing though, has something in it for all sorts of sailors creating some of the best sailing conditions in the country for the 248 sailors in attendance.Â
The Laser Radial class was so closely fought that it came down to the final race where TNSA’s Nethra Kumanan was pipped at the post into silver medal position despite being tied on points.Â
As the next gen sailors from TNSA get ready Aaryan Anand came second in Optimist Novice category. TNSA’s Lepakkshi M K also won bronze in the Optimist Class in the girls section.Â
NSS Bhopal sailors also did very well winning gold in the Optimist & Laser 4.7 Girls categories. In the senior classes it was AYN all the way with them bagging almost every medal that was on offer.
