Loyola to meet Hindustan in RFYS final

Loyola College got the better of DB Jain College to advance to the title round, thanks to the solitary goal scored by Suhail Pasha in the 56th minute. Hindustan University, on the other hand, took the penalty route to set their date with history. They beat Jeppiaar Engineering College in penalties after both were locked 0-0 after regulation time.

In the other finals played on Monday, Evans Higher Secondary School will take on Don Bosco HSS for the Senior Boys’ championship while St Gabriel’s Higher Secondary School will face Chettinad Vidyashram in the Junior Boys’ final. Immaculate Heart of Mary School and PS Senior Secondary School, the only two entries in the School Girls’ category, will also get into action on Tuesday at the Gate Way International School. 

Evan’s HSS trounced St Gabriel’s HSS 3-0, with Vishnu (6th), Nishanth (40th) and Harish (52nd) scoring the three goals. Don Bosco’s senior lads were equally dominant against Chettinad Vidyashram, winning their game 4-0. A double each by Keerthi and Sathish did the trick for them.

St Gabriel’s Junior Boys, however, kept their school in contention by overcoming Don Bosco 2-1. Devaraj scored the two goals for the winning side while Naresh got the consolation goal for the loses. Chettinad Vidyashram beat PS Senior Secondary School 4-2 in penalties.
