Rasool’s five-for helps India Green dictate terms
India Green bounced back splendidly to bowl out India Blue for a paltry score of 177 on the first day of their Duleep Trophy match at Kanpur on Tuesday.
Nothing went right for India Blue apart from winning the toss as only Manoj Tiwary 78 (138b, 12x4, 1x6) and captain Suresh Raina 40 (61b, 4x4) looked comfortable. The duo added 90 runs for the third wicket when off-spinner Parvez Rasool got rid of Raina.
The Jammu and Kashmir off-spinner had a day to remember as he scalped five wickets for 70 runs, including the wicket of Tiwary who top-scored with 78. Left-arm medium pacer Aniket Choudhary was also impressive taking three wickets for 18 runs.
Brief scores: India Blue (1st innings) 177 in 52 overs (Manoj Tiwary 78, Suresh Raina 40, Deepak Hooda 16, Parvez Rasool 5/70, Aniket Choudhary 3/18, Mayank Dagar 2/11).
