Facile wins for Loyola, DG Vaishnav
Loyola College and DG Vaishnav College scored comprehensive victories in the Chennai leg of the Reliance Foundation Youth Sports football tournament that resumed here on Tuesday. In the three matches played in the College Boys category, Loyola looked the most competent as it trounced Central Institute of Plastic Engineering and Technology with goals.

Jones Bethsale led the 9-0 demolition, scoring goals in the second, fifth and seventh minutes. Praveen V scored in the sixth minute. Syed Pasha added two more, in the 18th and 19th minute, to make it a nice 7-0. Loyola found the net two more times, with Sarath Raj scoring in the 44th minute while four minutes later Syed Pasha converted from the dreaded spot for his third goal and the ninth for his side.Â
In the other encounter, DG Vaishnav beat Sriram Arts & Science 8 -1, with Hari Haran (10th & 14th) and D Yogesh (16th & 18th) scoring a brace each. M Saravanan (5th), S Kamesh (23rd), M Saravanan (29th) and Shyam (52nd) were the other scorers for DG Vaishnav. D Gowtham was the only only scorer for Sriram Arts & Science.Â

TN defeats UP in openerÂ
Tamil Nadu defeated Uttar Pradesh 55-17 in the first match of the All-India Postal Kabaddi Tournament at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Tuesday. In another match in the morning, Karnataka defeated Punjab 4911 in Group B. Earlier, Walter Davaram, former DGP, inaugurated the tournament.
