The Steve Smith-led Australian side was needed to win the two-match series 1-0 or better to remain placed in the fourth position, the place where they stood before the start of the series.
However, with the series resulting in a draw, the Kangaroos are now at the fourth place with 97 points.
On the other hand, Bangladesh too remains seated at the ninth place with 74 points.
Team India continues to be the number one side in Test rankings with 125 points and are followed by South Africa and England, who are placed at the second and third spot with 110, 105 points respectively.
