Chepauk Super Gillies rout Kovai Kings

Set a target of 147 for win, the Chepauk team cantered home in 19 overs as openers KH Gopinath (37) and Thalaivan Sargunam (52 not out) added 66 in 8.2 overs. Though CSG lost two wickets in the ninth over, Sasidev (40) and Thalaivan put their head down and added 40 runs for the third wicket. Earlier, Kovai Kings, electing to bat, made 146 for eight.

Suryapprakash slammed Yo Mahesh for three consecutive boundaries in the fourth over. Sathish sent back the other opener Anirudh in the next over when the left hander skied one to Antony Dhas at mid-on. 

Super Gillies got the big wicket of Suryapprakash in the 13th over when he was caught short of his crease .Suryapprakash scored 46 off 43 balls with five boundaries.

Gopinath pulled off a stunner at short mid-wicket in the 14thover to dismiss Harish Kumar. That could go down as one of the best in the tournament. 

Kovai Kings’ 100 came in the 17th over and then Syed Mohammed was brilliantly caught by Thalaivan at covers. M Mohammed made (26 off 12 balls.
