Velammal to felicitate Paralympic medal winners
Thangavelu Mariyappan of Tamil Nadu, who won the gold in the high-jump event of the Rio Paralympic Games in August and the other three medal winners from the Paralympic Games will be felicitated by Velammal Vidyalaya, Alapakkam on Thursday.

Velammal Vidyalaya officials said Mariyappan wil be given a car and the others, Devendra Jhajharia (gold winner in javelin), Deepa Malik (silver in shot put) and Varun Singh Bhati (bronze in high jump) will be gifted gold coins worth Rs five lakh each.
