Joshna goes down fighting
India’s lone entrant Joshna Chinappa failed to produce the magic of past and went down to the third seeded Egyptian Raneem El Welily in a first round match of the $100,000 Al Ahram International, a PSA major event here. The Egyptian won 11-8, 11-2, 11-7 in just under half an hour.

Last year in the Qatar Classic, Joshna had caused a sensation when she had downed Raneem, who was then the top seed in the first round.
The world number 10 this time was hardly given the freedom to dominate even though the Indian hardly put a foot wrong.
Raneem seemed on a revenge path as she went on a quick-finish spree.
