Creative gift for Kohli from Viv junior

Mali Richards, who has played 18 first-class matches and now owns an art gallery T.H.O.C (The House of Creativity), came down to meet Kohli at the team hotel with his father and business partner Ron Howell (Guava De Artist). 

Richards Jr. met Kohli and gifted him a painting of his maiden double hundred scored during the first Test at the Sir Viv Richards Stadium. Mali said he had planned to do something special for Kohli. “We were excited when we found out that Kohli is going to be in Antigua for the first Test. We wanted to do something creative for him but back then we did not know the exact date of his arrival,” Mali told BCCI.tv.

With Virat getting his double hundred on the second day of the match, Mali and his artist friend quickly got down to the task. “We decided to commemorate his maiden double hundred as he registered the milestone here in Antigua. We prepared the entire painting in just one day and came here to present it to him.” 

Earlier, Sir Viv had termed Kohli’s double as “magnificent”. “I think It was a magnificent hundred. To score a double hundred is a formidable task in terms of what he has achieved. As a batsman myself, it was very pleasing to see and even though it was against the West Indies, I do appreciate seeing class and his was a classy knock.”
