Edwards eyes two England wins at Kotla
Charlotte Edwards has two England wins in her sights on Wednesday when the women’s and men’s teams play their ICC World Twenty20 semi-finals in a doubleheader. First at the Feroz Shah Kolta, Edwards’ England take on holders Australia in a repeat of the World T20 final two years ago

Later at the same venue, Eoin Morgan’s men face New Zealand, who won all four of their group games. Both matches on Wednesday will be televised, with huge global audiences expected. Asked if it is a big day for English cricket, Edwards said: “It certainly is. I’m really pleased for the guys who played brilliantly last night. To have two England semi-finals at Delhi on Wednesday is going to be fantastic. Hopefully we can get two wins.”
Against Pakistan on Sunday, Edwards became the first female or male to reach 2,500 Twenty20 international runs. Her 77 not out was not just the top score for England but only three runs fewer than Pakistan collectively managed in the match.
“I’m really pleased but now it’s important we back this up on Wednesday against Australia, which is going to be a huge game for everyone,” Edwards added. Edwards was the player of the match though spinner Laura Marsh returned bowling figures of 3-12 from four overs.
