We would love to beat India again: Sana
There is something always electric during an IndiaPakistan cricket match. Tempers flay, emotions run hard and in the process, top class cricket is dished out to a spectacle for the eyes
Chennai
While the Pakistan men have been unsuccessful in their attempts to beat India in a World Cup match, the women have achieved the distinction. They beat the ‘Women in Blue’ by a narrow margin in the 2012 World Cup.
Pakistan skipper Sana Mir, ahead of her team’s first practice session here, said they would love to do a repeat of the same. “It is always an intense clash against India. We beat them once and we want to do it again. It is something the men couldn’t achieve too,” Mir said.
After days of speculation, the team arrived here on Saturday night and Mir wasn’t complaining for the delayed arrival. “Of course, any team would like to come early. That’s what the warm-up matches are there for.
However, this is what we have at the moment and utilise the best of what’s available now,” Mir said adding that it was Pakistan Cricket Board’s policy to nullify all threats before sending their teams. The skipper said her team has the surprise element, like their male counterparts.
“We have it in us to surprise the top teams. We have done it in the past. We come with a good blend of spin, medium and hitters. It is all up to applying it in the ground,” she added.
