Chris Gayle flirts with Big Bash League anchor faces strong criticism

Chris Gayle is known to be a fun loving and jovial character. He is known to be a destructive batsman and when the damage is done to the bowlers he switches off that mode he is still unstoppable a player.  

However, Gayle landed in hot soup after he forgot the choice of words to use while talking to the female anchor Mel McLaughlin during an interview on live television.

He said, “I wanted to come and have an interview with you as well,” “That’s the reason why I’m here, just to see your eyes for the first time. It’s nice so. Hopefully we can win this game and have a drink after. Don’t blush, baby.”

McLaughlin wasn’t impressed at this attempt and replied by telling Gayle, “I’m not blushing” before moving the interview back onto cricketing matters.

Anthony Everard the head of the BBL who was also there during the game, strongly criticized Gayle’s comments. He said, “I heard Chris’ comments and they’re disrespectful and simply inappropriate.”

David Barham, Channel Ten’s head of sport, was quoted by The Herald Sun saying, “We will be seeking an apology,”.
