Chennai: Thirush Kamini is the first Indian cricketer to score a century in the ICC Women's World Cup. She also has the distinction of having the highest score by an Indian woman in test matches and the second highest Indian scorer in test matches. In 2007-2008, she was awarded the BCCI Junior Cricketer of the Year and won the BCCI Best Senior Women's Cricketer award in 2009-2010, the only woman to win both. She received the Allan Border-Gavaskar scholarship in 2008 and was selected to train at the Centre of Excellence, Australia.
