We create our destiny
Irrespective of advancement in technology, increase in knowledge and the ability to create a world beyond nature for our pleasure, comfort and safety we still find our lives steered by something beyond our control.
Chennai
There are several words we’ve coined for this; Fate or karma or destiny. But one needs to understand the difference between these three. And realise that your life is  not pre-determined, you create your future.Â
Fate is the destiny experienced in the past and destiny is the fate that will be experienced in the future.Â
Fate is something that cannot be changed, it is the Vidhi, or law; that cannot be changed and will not change for anyone. It is as precise as the condition and consequence of a scientific law which is the same for all. Eg. Newtons law or the law of thermodynamics where no human instruction is needed. With fate, you have no choice.Â
Like it is the fate of the kidney to be the kidney and function to filter blood and extract waste. The fate of the heart is to be the heart. This is a law and cannot be changed. However, with destiny you have a choice. Â
For human beings, destiny is the experience that is waiting to be experienced. Life is not what you have but what you experience with what you have. And karma is the cause for the experiences you have, it controls the experience. For instance, if the owner of a good restaurant has diabetes he cannot enjoy the delicacies of his own restaurant. Simply put, your destiny is decided by your karma.Â
God has however given every human the power to change his destiny by changing his karma. If you want to change your destiny, change your karma. This is vidhi, or the fate of destiny and karma. With or without your permission, knowingly or unknowingly, consciously or unconsciously karma is formed. One has no power to control karma but you have the power to change your karma. You can create what you want only when you eliminate what you don’t want. The formation of karma could have happened without your permission but the elimination of karma is possible only by your conscious decision.Â
People focus on thought to change life, but change in thought is just a change in thought. If you want to change your destiny, you have to change your karma. And to change karma you need to know how to reach the state of Divine Consciousness.Â
Through Atma-Dhyana one can raise themselves to Divine Consciousness and have the power to change his destiny in a way he wants to be, do and have. It gives you the power to create the people and surroundings you want to live in. Failing which you will be controlled by your surrounding and people.Â
Only by this process can one keep himself away from all experiences he doesn’t want to experience and be prepared to receive the experiences he wants to experience. Or simply put, to have your life the way you want it.Â
