Right action leads to happiness
Two aspects govern a person’s life; Activity and Action. Activity is what happens within the body with no effort from us and which cannot be controlled or stopped. E.g. metabolism or perspiration. This is Niyata Karma where the human mind and choice are not involved, it is an activity predestined by the divine and happens to perfection.

What humans have control over is Action. And action is of three kinds:
1. Action performed with purpose: at any given point, the mind has the will and the desire to perform many actions. But we choose to perform that action where we have a purpose or that has consequences that can give us the experience we desire. This is Nitya Karma ; an action with a purpose. For example, one might want to relax but chooses to exercise instead because he has a specific purpose or end-result in mind.
2. Action without a purpose: Simply, this is an action where the purpose is not defined or known. Here the person’s actions might be erratic and prone to influence because of the lack of an end goal or purpose. This type of action is called Vikarma.
3. Any action that disturbs or negatively affects health or happiness: This is forbidden or sinful action, is also called as Akarma. Sinful action isn’t just doing what one is not supposed to do; but also, not doing what one is supposed to do. This has nothing to do with the good one does for others. E.g. one might be engaged in feeding the poor but not taking care of one’s own diet and health will have consequences only that person must bear.
To experience the experiences you want; remember this rule ‘No one is responsible for you, but you’, not even God. Every action you take has an unavoidable good or bad effect. There is nothing like a null effect or neutral effect.
One should constantly gauge their every action by simply asking; “What is the purpose for this action and is it a forbidden action”? This guides a person towards the right action and the right results from their actions. It also gives one the constant opportunity to change for the better. Knowing you can change and still not changing or not doing what must be done has its consequences, either in this life or the next which none has the power to escape from.
Every cause is nothing but the effect concealed and every effect is a cause revealed. Therefore, the only way to avoid the effects you do not want is to remove the cause; and to remove the cause, change your action.
Then right results will be revealed at the right time and required things will happen at the required time. Once you decide to live your life engaged only in right action with discipline, the divine has to bless you with unimaginable health, wealth and happiness.
